MGA
Men’s Golf Association
Please Join us for the upcoming MGA Season and help continue its outstanding tradition. We are excited to announce a number of changes that we are certain will make for a memorable year. For those of you new to Southern Pines Golf Club or the MGA, we’ve answered some basic questions below:
1. What is the purpose of the MGA? The purpose of the MGA is to promote the spirit of friendly golf competition according to the USGA Rules and to promote pride in the club properties by contributing to the care, maintenance and beautification of the golf course. You can help make the Club at Southern Pines a success by supporting the MGA and participating in the many tournaments that will be offered, you will find that golfing at SPGC will be very enjoyable.
2. Who Can join the MGA? MGA membership is open to all male golfers over the age of 18 who are members in good standing of The Southern Pines Golf Club.
3. What does it cost to join? Season Dues for 2010 are $25 per member. The MGA hosts several tournaments and will sponsor and host additional events throughout the season. As a member of the MGA, you will be entitled to play in all of these events.
4. If prize money is collected for each event, what will my dues be used for? By example in 2009 the MGA finished the Kids Tee Program. The club now has 3 sets of kids tees on both the Hills course and the Calvert Course. The MGA also purchased Pin Spotting Prisms for all 36 flag poles.
5. I’m Interested in joining, what do I do now? Joining the MGA is easy – submit your completed enrollment form and check for your dues or to either one of the pro-shops. Enrollment is managed by our committee and is completely separate from your club membership.
We hope to see 200 members join our MGA this year, and many more in the future. Please make the right decision and support the Southern Pines Men’s Golf Association by enrolling today.
Best wishes for great golfing from the MGA committee!
