Senior, Juniors & Ladies Club Championship Recap

The seniors, ladies, and juniors club championships were played this weekend at Southern Pines Golf Club. The tournament started Saturday at the Calvert Course. In the senior Division, 2008 Senior Champion Jerry Lockwood would be defending his title against a strong field including 2009 Men’s Club Champion Johnny Futch (Also Men’s Club Champion Pine Hills 1996, 1997, 1999, 2002, and Senior Club Champion Pine Hills 2006), other previous Senior Club Champions in the field Consisted of Glen Roscoe 2007, Clyde Albritton 2001, and Two time Champion Billy Anders 2003 and 2005.

Partner Cup 2009

The fourth annual Partner Cup was held this weekend at Southern Pines Golf Club. The event kicked off on Friday Night where Steve Murray (Captain of Murray’s Militia) and Todd Perry (Captain of Perry’s Pirates) drafted players to battle it out for the cup title. The Militia has been shut out in the three previous years, but are primed and ready to make a charge on the defending champion Pirates. The event was capped off by an inspirational speech given by tape by General George S. Patton. After the troops got fired up, they retired to get ready for battle.
