Southern Pines Golf Club is privately owned and operated for the enjoyment of our club members and their guests. Southern Pines was created by combining two great 18 hole golf courses in May 2008. Both clubs feature practice facilities, bar and grill, dressing rooms for men and ladies, ballrooms, swimming pools, tennis courts and a fitness center at Pine Hills.
Pines Hills is a traditional golf course lay out. It features 419 Bermuda grass fairways. It was established in 1974 and has been a favorite of many local golfers since it opened. The Hills course is 6823 yards, a par 72, and features Mini Verdi greens.
The Calvert Course opened in 2001 and is a modern design. It features Tiff Eagle greens and 419 Bermuda fairways. The course features fast undulating greens, narrow tree-lined fairways and water on 10 holes. Five sets of tees challenge players of all levels of ability. The Crossings course is 6822 yards and a par 72.
In preserving the traditions of both clubs, we let the members vote on the name of the overall club. This is how Southern Pines Golf Club was formed.
Southern Pines is pleased to announce the completion of their Junior Tee project. This includes setting up both courses for kids of all ages. Every hole has 2 sets of markers. The green tees are for kids 7 and under and the yellow tees are for kids 8 & 9. The green and yellow tees can be found 90 degrees from the green and yellow circles in the cart path on each hole. The tees are set up per US Kids regulations. This makes Southern Pines the only club within 200 mile radius set up for junior golf. This, along with supporting the Northeast Louisiana Junior Golf Tour, has been the biggest project by the MGA in recent years.
